Jo Kare Ni from Luo (Acholi or Lango) means people of these days/ humans of the current times. That said, Stayput and now frequent collaborator Toobi Smolz put present day human condition in perspective. They explore the selfish and individual tendencies that people have.
The song is a call to actually support each other; Ubuntu! However the reality is really different. The sick, poor like basically everyone who is vulnerable or in need of some form of help tends to be ignored.
Let’s be honest, life has it’s ups and downs. What we all yearn for is having people by us, supporting us. I wish it was possible all the time. The harsh reality is, not everyone is for us. Feels day by day like the world becomes more wicked. I’m I crazy for this take?
