Shirley May’s ability to be outspoken and have fun at the same time makes her distinct. The song can double as a spiritual blessing embracing and also a statement for a woman/lady confident in her skin.

Shirley May debut was the song “Grinding On” in 2016. Looking back she has released a number of tracks and collaborated with several artistes. In her catalogue she has fan favourites such as “Dedede” and “Tusula Ku Mwezi“.

“Blessed” is Shirley May’s reintroduction. She hasn’t been releasing music for some time. This new release came out on her birthday 25 July as she has been sharing on her social media, she feels it is important to celebrate this growth.

“Blessed” was produced by Skinnie of Infinit3 Records and Sayanide (think “Kiwani”, Communion EP), the rapper now works the boards too.

Shirley is definitely embracing the drill sound, also exploring more in what she is able to. Her ability to be outspoken and have fun at the same time makes her distinct. The song can double as a spiritual blessing embracing and also a statement for a woman/lady confident in her skin.

Now that she is older and wiser, she speaks on going for what’s hers and making the moves.
